Announcement No. 70 makes it more clear that importers should be responsible for checking whether the Chinese labels of imported pre-packaged food conform to the relevant laws of our country. No import shall be allowed if the audit is not qualified. Customs departments will also verify when they receive notifications from other departments and consumer reports.
How to adapt to the new situation of import pre-packaged food labeling system reform?
1.Imported pre-packaged food should be labeled in Chinese, and labeled in strict accordance with the relevant laws, administrative regulations and national food safety standards to ensure the completeness and standardization of labeling content.
2.Before importing, the items of food additives and nutrition labels labeled on imported pre-packaged food labels should be carefully examined to ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the labels. If necessary, conformity testing can be carried out to verify.
3.Although the original and translated labels, sample Chinese labels and other supporting materials of pre-packaged food need not be submitted at the time of the first import declaration, complete materials should be prepared for sampling and inspection.
