A violent explosion occurred in the port area of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, on the evening of the 4th local time. So far, 113 people have been killed and more than 4,000 injured.
This tragic accident once again taught mankind a costly lesson.
From a historical point of view, industrial accidents and accidents are difficult to completely eliminate in both developed and developing countries. On the list of the horrible big explosions of ammonium nitrate, Western developed countries such as the United States, Britain, Germany, and France, as well as the world’s major chemical giants Monsanto, BASF, and Total are all spared.
Some are accidents, and some are serious and bad liability accidents.
After the previous major accidents, all countries must introduce corresponding system improvements, such as strictly controlling urbanization in high-risk areas; strengthening safety inspections of industrial facilities; strictly maintaining safety distances between facilities in accordance with regulations to reduce risks from the source.
